Welcome to the support page for The Dutch Vibe, a series of funny applications for iPhone and iPod touch. Currently two apps are available: Mr Right and Mrs Right.
In the very near future you will find a more sophisticated support page here. The new page will include a form so you can ask us your questions or send us your suggestions. For now please send an email to
and we will respond promptly. You can also contact us through Twitter:
Maybe your question is answered below:
Sometimes when I play a sound, it does not play right, it sort of stutters, what is that?
Short answer: Make sure you installed the latest version of the iPhone OS and restart the device.
Longer answer: We are not 100% sure but we think that this is caused by a bug in the iPhone OS. We really, really tested this, went through our code, and concluded it is not our bug, but instead it is a bug in Apple's code and therefore must be solved by Apple. (We even spent a precious day of our visit to the WWDC, Apple's developer conference, talking to and working with Apple engineers trying to fix this, but they also did not find a bug in our code.) The problem seems to have Apple's attention however and the problems occurs less often with never versions of the iPhone OS. The situation is actually pretty good with iPhone OS 3.1.2. If you're still on iPhone OS 2 you we recommend you use the latest version which is 2.2.1. (The apps do not run with iPhone OS versions prior to version 2.2.1.)
When a sound is playing, how do you make the playing stop?
Short answer: Tapping the speaker in the lower right corner will stop a playing sound immediately.
Longer answer: There are two ways to make a sound stop playing: you can tap your finger on the speaker in the lower right corner or you can hit the home button and quit the app altogether. When you tap the speaker while a sound is not playing tapping the speaker has the same result as tapping the play button. Someone might ask: "Why does the play button not turn in a stop button when a sound is playing?" Our answer would be: We think that in most cases when the user wants to stop playing a sound he/she wants to play another sound (play button) or is ok with quitting the app (home button). If we would force you to tap a stop button before you are able to play another sound in most use cases that would mean an extra step. We try to avoid extra steps.
This website was not what I expected, why didn't you make a better website?
First of all, we will. It is just not there yet. Over time, the website will get a lot better.
The Dutch Vibe and the iPhone apps part of it (currently Mr Right and Mrs Right) are built by The Dutch Republic, a company based in the Netherlands. Different than our company name may suggest, we are not a big company, actually, we are very small. Right now we only have resources for one developer who does the website 'on the side'. In December 2009 and January 2010 we are focussing on creating more apps and we plan to release more apps in the series soon. After that we will enhance the website, we plan to build the website around a simple blog. For now, we have only put up the most basic stuff there.
